Spring Craft Show 2011

Everyone keeps asking me how the Spring show went. And I'm a little late about blogging it. I heard someone say at the Show that a show like this one really makes you second guess yourself. And she was right. What did I spend the last 3 months working on? Why did I invest all that time into it? So, someone could walk by and say, "Oh, that's different." Or "Oh, you don't have that in this color."
It started out good and then as the day progressed and I got sicker, due to a headache, business seemed to slow down. Maybe the way I felt reflected on my attitude towards the customers. But, then I thought, even though I felt bad, I still smiled, watched people walk by, said the usual, "Hi how are you?", answered everyone's questions.
But, I kept going back to that statement that lady said. Is this a repeat of the Christmas show. It's a good thing my husband gave me a year to make a go of this. Don't get me wrong I love what I do and it is stressful at times, no doubt about that.
I took a lot of photo's, because unlike the Christmas Show, this time I had the frame up for the tent, my banner, things like that. New displays. Some things aren't shown in the photo's and most of you have already seen the photo's. So, I'm only posting two.

And while I sit back and reflect poorly on this show. There's always the hope that the summer show's will bring with it prospect of more buyers!

Home Project

I remember growing up, every time my mom would clean, she would re-arrange the furniture. Every week we would come from school and a room would be different. I guess growing up around that, you start to do that with your own family. Change is good...right? Well, I have to say that after a few weeks of being sick, depressed, and whatever else comes along with the winter blue's, I finally did it again. I re-arranged the furniture and while doing so I realized that I would never, ever be able to get those pesky spongebob squarepants stickers off my end tables. I tried scraping them, peeling them, Goo Be gone. Nothing! And all that was left was a scratched up table!
Now, their not expensive tables. Just some cheapy one's we graced ourselves with when we moved into the house. And after months of debating whether or not to decoupage them in the colors of my living room, I finally did one. And I love it!
Here's a Before photo of the other end table:
Photobucket
As you can see they are just plain black tables, but with a little decoupage they become more then that. On this table I added some things in that reminded me of my family, A stroll on the beach, family, treasures, etc.

I plan on doing this with the other end table as well. But, for the long middle table I plan something more special. I am going to decoupage it in family photo's to add to the theme of family memories! I can't wait to see the finished project!

My Faith Is The Evidence Of Things Unseen

When I first started on ebay with Heavenly Scrapbook Designs (Inspired Creations), All I made was Pre-Made Scrapbook pages. Which sold really great on ebay until the Recession hit. I had this wonderful photo in my mind of 3 crosses. Maybe it wasn't ever the right time to create such a thing on a page. But, God continues to bless my family and my business everyday with opportunities to give him the Glory that he deserves. So, today before I started this plaque, I prayed that God would bless it and just use my hands to do his will.
My Faith is the evidence of things unseen. Love for the Lord, my God and knowing with a peace and without a doubt that He loves me in return. And What Jesus had to endure on the cross. That was the inspiration for this Wall Plaque.

And with that in mind this is the first item in the Grand Opening of the new store. You can find the new store at the shop now tab on the left of the fan page on Facebook.
I like the song by DC Talk, "Mind's Eye", [In my mind, I can see Your face
As Your love pours down in a shower of grace
Some people tell me that You're just a dream
My faith is the evidence of things unseen]
Can you catch the wind?
See a breeze?
Its presence is revealed by
The leaves on a tree
An image of my faith in the unseen
I am not going to apologize anymore for things that the Lord leads me to create. Without him I wouldn't have this talent. He Gave this talent to me for a reason and I know that He can take it away it as fast as He gave to me.

Vacation?

Yes, It's that time again. I've been trying to think of when to put both the store's on Vacation and after much consideration I have decided that on the 12th of March will be the exact date. That will allow me 2 weeks to make sure all Inventory (which I have swamped myself in) is complete and been put in the Inventory List. All items that are created during that time will be shown either through Blog or through the fan page at www.facebook.com/InspiredCreationsByMichelle
There is so much to do yet and this will fully allow me the time to get it done.
But, while I'm on the subject of Vacations. Here are the other vacation dates for the Store's:
June 12th through the 26th.
All inventory from the show's that are sold will be deleted off the site's as soon as they are taken off vacation. I will be taking custom orders and completing the local custom orders I am behind on (such as John's Mom).

Photobucket
This vacation notice does include both store's!
If you need anything you can email me or use the contact tab to the left on the fan page! All new items will be posted in the store's after the Crafts Shows are over.

Sping Is here and So are the Memories

Most of us can always tell when Spring is around the corner, by the daffodils poking out of the ground. Well, here in the Valley, the Daffodils are springing up, but it is 40 degree's outside. The first year we moved into the house I dug up all the Daffodils from the backyard and re-planted them in one of the flower beds. Every time I see the Daffodils start to come up, I am reminded of a place back in the hills of Hartsville, Tennessee. A place where I grew up, but so few people knew about. Just my family, myself, and what few neighbors we did have. There's a little trail off of Griffs Hollow Rd. and when we were younger we always looked forward to walking this trail. For on the right side was a foundation to an old house. Now the story of Griffs Hollow and Gravely Hill is back in the old days there was a Mental Hospital and one of the patients got loose and burnt all the buildings to the ground.
Now whether this one particular house was one of those I do not know. But, I do know that the whole front yard was full of Daffodils that had spread to cover most of the hillside. A vision of Yellow! We would pick bouquets and bouquets of them and take them home.
Every time I remember that special place I get a big smile on my face. I love that place. I guess that's why I love flowers so much.
Well, with Spring comes many different new adventures. Like the Spring Art and Craft Show at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds! I have been waiting for booth confirmation for about 3 months and Imagine my surprise when I opened up the mail box this morning and there it was. The Spring show is on March 26 from 9 am to 3 pm. And Inspired Creations (me) will be in booth 37! I am happy to see I am not by the door again. I about froze during the Christmas Show! Brrr!
